Google Ads is changing its design after months of trials with two different options. The new format features a left-hand menu and has content separated into five high-level categories, making it easier than ever to navigate whether you’re new to advertising or a seasoned pro.
Why is this important for digital marketers?
While the transition is happening gradually, all Google Ad users will be moved to the new design by the end of 2021. For those in charge of advertising, it’s crucial to feel confident using the new system.
So, what’s new? Based on observations from users, Google has divided the main content of Google Ads into five categories:
– Campaigns: Analyze, optimize, and manage your campaigns.
– Goals: Define, monitor, and update your conversion goals.
– Tools: Access planning, bidding, budgeting, and troubleshooting tools.
– Billing: Keep track of your payments and spending.
– Admin: Manage your team, security, and account settings.
When will the new design roll out?
The new Google Ads design has been rolling out to users who took part in the trials since March 2. Everyone else will be gradually moved over to the new interface by December 2021. However, advertisers will only have until 2024 to revert back to the old design.
According to Google, users should stay tuned for notifications as the new design is implemented over the next six months. Google plans to update its Help Center and create more resources to help users adjust to the new design.
